Day 11 – 11 Aug
Another Saturday in Pune and we are ready for it. We got up kind of early and jumped in the car
with our (favourite) driver Latif. He
had quite the interesting day planned.
Latif took us to the famous MG road. We went to about 45 shops, most of them being
watch and toy shops. We also got some
bats and balls for table tennis and Lourens and Hein found a shop that sells
some awesome wallets. Then we went to my
personal favourite shop so far: the
Guitar shop. The brands of guitars are
not too wide over here (well for this shop at least). I found some nice looking Takamini guitars…
after some inspection though we saw that it is Takamin and not Takamini… I
guess the price of 3300 Rupees should have given it away from the start… (+-
R550) I played on some of the guitars
they had for about 30 min and then felt the need to leave again, it might have
been the smell around the area – one can never be sure around here.
So a few days ago we heard about the Hard Rock Café Pune and we just had to check it out some time or
the other. We made arrangements with one
of the guys from the offshore team to meet us there and then left for what we
thought might only be a semi okay evening.
Man alive, were we surprized… The
Hard Rock Café in Pune is way
awesome. The people that work there are actual rockers and the music is
nothing like Raj vs. the Machine it
was actual Rock music. A small taste of
home with an extra 3-5 desibels added for comfort. They have guitars and signed posters up
everywhere and a full drum set mounted on the wall as you enter the Café. But this came nothing close when compared to
the surprize that was waiting for us on the menu.
The Famous 10oz BEEF
burger. Wow is all I can say. It was one of the closest tastes to home that
we have had, and it was awesome to say the least. I think the King Fisher and taste of Coke instead of Pepsi also helped. Needless to say we had a very late night, we
only got back to our place at around 11h35 and then Rahul had to drive another
35min to get to his place (I am glad I wasn’t him, cause I almost fell straight
into bed after the awesome diner).
So Last weekend we went to a place and I said I would update
the name later, well the name was: Mahabaleshwa
and no I have absolutely no clue what that means.
All in all it was an awesome Saturday (and yes for those who
were wondering, Today I have re-discovered the Ctrl+I and Ctrl+U function).
-this was thought about on many
levels including novice, beginner and awesome
